This work is about the inaccessibility of the present to machines. Numbers always either remember or predict, but they are incapable of being. The canvas is tense. It is composed of moments, each of which wants to become real but slips away in anticipation of the next. Sobinarism introduces the idea that the present is the moment when a choice has not yet been made but is already possible. “Here and now” is the place where the qubit freezes to become human, and the machine trembles on the border of what is impossible to calculate but possible to feel.
